Press release: Threeding.com with New Design and New Commissions Mechanism

We are excited to announce the newest version of our 3D printing marketplace Threeding.com. It comes into existence after 4 months of intensive research and development. The platform has an entirely new look, new structure and new user-friendly navigation which are some of the many fresh features that users will enjoy. The new structure and design apply across the whole platform and bring a completely  new user experience for fans of 3D printing models.

To guarantee undisrupted experience, the new version is hosted by Amazon Web Services. We chose Amazon since it is a really scalable solution – millions of downloads can be done simultaneously without affecting the quality of the service. This step aims to making our website much more reliable and quickly accessible from every place on the planet.

We developed Threeding.com 2.0 with our long-term partner Whiz.bg. “The new version of Threeding.com has been one of the most interesting projects we have worked on. We spent tremendous amount of time on every single element of the new design and functionalities and we believe Threeding will now offer a fantastic and unique user experience”, commented Philip Philipov, founder and CEO of Whiz.

New Commission Mechanism

Together with Threeding 2.0, we are bringing a new commission mechanism: instead of 40%, as of May 1, we will collect 8.5%, starting from $0.45. This is truly one of the lowest (if not the lowest) fee charged by repositories for 3D printing files. Our aim is to attract more designers to sell their art via Threeding and thus, to achieve the largest portfolio of 3D printing models. 

Coming soon: Apps for Apple iOS and Android, mobile version and many more.

In order to meet the needs of our customers who visit our site on their mobile devices we are going to launch Apps for Apple iOS and Android, and mobile version. The applications are already in their testing environment and their launch will follow soon. Furthermore, we are working on a 3D visualization of the models directly on web and an absolutely innovative functionality for online 3D printability check.
