Docked, locked and ready to rock
Okay, I'll admit it; I'm a huge fan of Ikea. So I thought I'd have a go at making a sync and charging dock for my iPhone in the style of Ikea's curvy designs. Also includes trumpets to amplify the music, podcast, phonecall or whatever else you're thinking of. Glue a Lightning cable into the bottom of the amplifier pod (you can get one for £1 in many places), with the bottom of the connector plug flush with the outer surface of the pod, and the phone will clip snugly into place. If you don't want to use it as a charging dock you can just plug the hole and not bother with the cable, it will still act as an amplifier for your phone. Enjoy!
NOTE: When inserting the two horns into the front of the casing make sure you push them all the way in (so they appear as they do in the photos with the blue horns). The holes they fit into are sculpted to fit the horn exactly into the right position so it's a bit of a tight fit, but push them in until you feel them click into place. If you don't do this the central amplifier and dock pod will not line up properly with the gap on the top of the dock and your phone will not fit in correctly.
